I Made a Book
Published in 2021: Twenty-three mixed media artworks on paper by Alia Ollikainen contemplating the concept of circles and time, bound into one book.
SEASONS GREETINGS (cards)
In 2021 I did a series of small works on paper as part of a collage project. The work centers on the symbolism of the circle, connections, and cyclical creation. I used a combination of digital work, painting, drawing, and various materials for each work on paper. This collage is still a work in progress however I have scanned those small mixed media pages and I have made them available for your personal consumption as packages of greeting cards.
Kickstart My Kickstart
I’ve launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the recreation of the book that kickstarted my return to art making, and in doing so, my return to myself.
For the Love of Merchandise
My artwork contains a lot of repetition and colors that tends to lend itself to pattern making and fabrics. This is quite logical as fabrics, knot making, stitching and weaving are thoroughly sewn throughout my family histories and I’m sure it’s imprinted deep in my DNA.
