47 Views of Malibu Lagoon

If you want to learn what someone fears losing, watch what they photograph.

It’s true. We photograph what’s closet to our heart. When I’m not taking photos of my children and our cat, I’m taking photos of Malibu. As I was going through my recent photos to place onto stock sites I realized I have the largest assortment of images of Malibu Lagoon. My first memories of Malibu are all of time spent with my important people at Malibu Lagoon. Throughout all of our time living here I still take photos of this place regularly. There is something about the air and light here. Perhaps it’s the sound of the shorebirds nesting, the moisture kicked up by the surf, and the funky smell of the stagnate lagoon mud. Maybe it’s the angle of the sun as it sets over bluffs to the West, with the rays of light skirting over the ripples of the lagoon. Or maybe it’s how the Santa Monica Mountains glow a pinkish orange shortly before that happens. It’s a place I am thankful for. Forty seven of my photos of Malibu Lagoon are now available for download from Shutterstock.
